F. Scott Schafer Photography: Behind the Scenes... →
fscottschafer: For the MTV VMA’s last year, we shot Justin Bieber, Ke$ha, Nicki Minaj, Eminem and Drake over the course of two weeks for the VMA ad campaigns. In the Justin Bieber and Eminem shots, we knew that the best way to achieve the final concept was to shoot the subject and background separately. This…

Lots of good things happening these days.  The challenge is fitting the time to broadcast them to the outside world between work, gym, dinner, child, wife, other work, sleep, etc.   Rest assured, we will get there shortly.  In the meantime - thanks for the follows…

Best $10 You Can Spend
I have to admit - a lot of people ask me how to take better photos.  I am asked what camera to buy, what settings to use, if they need that $2000 lens.  The answer is no.  You don’t need any of that, well at least not yet - what you need is an understanding of the fundamentals of photography.  You need to understand exposure. You know…f stops, ISO, aperture, exposure...

Back in the saddle again...
Hey all…lots of news and developments in the last few weeks. After a break with the baby, things are starting to roll on the photography front. Life...just a bit slower.
A quick update from Colorado. The baby is doing great as is Laurie. The feeding is under control and we are getting our fair share of sleep. Nothing huge on the radar for the first part of the week other than getting the announcement out and a 2 week check up. We are looking forward to Ashlin’s cousin visiting from San Diego next weekend and I will be heading back to work that following...

Greetings from the bubble.
Almost a week in. Life is returning to a semi-normal state here at the house. Got a gym trip in, mowed the yard…Laurie has been getting in some walks. While the house is still a bit uncomfortably full, six souls in addition to three animals, there is a normalcy on the horizon. Returning to the doctor tomorrow for a weight check on the wee one after she managed to drop 12% of her body...

While not particularly the best time of day…also not the worst. The world has a quiet vibration at this time of morning. Not a lot to say about it other than it is good to view your life sometimes through a different prism. What is nice is that the swaddled one prefers to sleep at this time of day. Let us see how long that continues.
